Takahide Kimura
Executive Vice President, Strategy - Operations
Takahide Kimura is Executive Vice President, Strategy - Operations for OFS.
Prior to joining OFS in early 2006, Mr. Kimura was Managing
Director (President) of Furukawa FITEL (Thailand) Co., Ltd. for
the last five years. In 2001 Mr. Kimura planned and started-up
this Greenfield facility in Thailand. Under his leadership it has
become known as a strategic manufacturing site for optical
components and devices, employing more than 500 people.
Mr. Kimura joined The Furukawa Electric Company (FEC) in April
1981. He has greatly contributed to the capital investment
management in FEC, and is the recognized strategist within the
company with his broad foundation and experience in overseas
manufacturing and management.
Mr. Kimura is a graduate of the University of Tokyo in Japan. He
also holds a Masters of Engineering degree from the University of
Tokyo, and Master of Science, Industrial Administration degree with
University Honors from Carnegie Mellon University.
