includes drop, loose tube and central tube cables designed to
reduce installation costs for FTTx and Outside Plant applications
as well as an innovative line of cables and cordage for the
premises applications. All of OFS cables are manufactured with
leading edge OFS optical fibers inside.
Optical Connectivity: OFS provides the products and components
that connect and manage optical fiber for emerging applications
such as FTTx and Data Storage, as well as Network Equipment
Manufacturers and the traditional Enterprise and Telco market
spaces.
Optical Fiber: OFS designs and manufactures high performance fibers offering superior performance and reliability. Working with our global cable partners, OFS helps end-users to reach increased capacity for video, voice and data transmission. The industry's benchmark full spectrum fiber, AllWave® Zero Water Peak (ZWP) fiber, offers increased bandwidth and capacity and the lowest loss in metro/access applications. LaserWave® laser-optimized multimode fiber is designed for premises applications up to 10 Gb/s for distances to 550 meters and beyond.
Fiber to the Home (FTTx): OFS offers the latest technology to
fiber-connect homes, businesses and communities. Its leading
Access ADVANTAGETM System is a high performance FTTx solution that
supports high-speed Internet, HDTV, voice, online gaming, home
security, and other revenue-generating services. Our company also
helps service providers, home developers, telecommunication
companies, municipalities, and other network owners and operators
identify optical network designs that fit their unique needs with
its recently introduced OptiCostTM FTTx Modeling services.
OFS Laboratories: Our OFS Laboratories combine the long history
and legacy of Lucent Technologies' Bell Labs (winner of 11 Nobel
awards) with the experience and research of Furukawa. We have
cutting edge fiber technology (design, materials, applications),
which is used to create exceptional products, providing advantages
to customers willing to partner with us.
Specialty Photonics (SPD): OFS develops and manufacturers
specialty optical fibers and photonics components, and do
everything necessary to make it easy for our customers to use
them. We aim to be the premier provider of added-value specialty
optical fiber solutions, and will develop the appropriate fibers,
cables, devices and assembly techniques to create the compelling
value propositions needed to achieve first place in the minds of
our customers.
