Nonzero Dispersion Optical Fibers

For long-haul transmission over land and sea, OFS' line of Nonzero Dispersion Fiber (NZDF) Fibers offer optimum dispersion characteristics for the most cost-effective high-capacity, longest reach systems. These single-mode fibers are specifically designed to enable the lowest total systems cost for EDFA amplified networks in the Metro Express, regional, and long-haul markets. These ITU-T G.655 and G.656 compliant fibers can accommodate both today’s lower channel counts and tomorrow’s full band capabilities.

TrueWave® REACH Fiber

TrueWave® REACH Fiber provides maximum performance for today's optically amplified systems over longer distances and with higher capacity. Optimized for Raman amplification, the fiber minimizes the need for complex dispersion and dispersion slope compensators and additional amplification. With fully matched dispersion compensation modules available in the C-, L-, and S-bands, TrueWave REACH fiber enables the highest performance and minimal system cost for 10 and 40 Gb/s transmission systems.

TrueWave® RS Fiber

TrueWave® RS Low Water Peak (LWP) Fiber is a nonzero dispersion fiber (NZDF) designed to accommodate today's lower channel counts and tomorrow's full-band capabilities in metropolitan, regional, and long haul optical transmission. With its optimized dispersion values and dispersion slope, which reduce the need for complex and expensive dispersion compensation, TrueWave RS Fiber enables the lowest total systems cost for both single and DWDM channels for erbium doped fiber amplified (EDFA) networks.
