Single-Mode Fibers

The OFS metropolitan and access fiber solutions, including AllWave® Zero Water Peak (ZWP) and AllWave FLEX ZWP Fibers, seamlessly extend the optical network into the end user's premises. For use in transitioning from the long haul backbone through the longer metro express to the metro local, TrueWave® RS Low Water Peak (LWP) Fiber is an excellent option to support continued bandwidth growth. If the need is for a cost-effective long haul network, Raman-optimized TrueWave REACH LWP Fibers can efficiently carry a network from hundreds to thousands of kilometers. UltraWave™, TrueWave and AllWave Ocean Fibers are the choice for continent-to-continent as well as medium and shorter distance submarine connections.

Zero Water Peak Single-Mode Fiber
OFS offers industry-leading single-mode fibers for high bandwidth, long distance transmission in campus, access, metro and Fiber-to-the-Home applications. For peak performance now and maximum upgrade capability for the future, our patented AllWave Zero Water Peak (ZWP) Single-Mode Fiber provides 50 percent more usable bandwidth, while the newly introduced AllWave FLEX ZWP fiber offers the same performance plus benchmark bending performance for demanding access applications. Thanks to many innovative and patented designs and manufacturing methods, OFS single-mode fibers offer very low and stable attenuation and polarization mode dispersion (PMD), as well as tight geometry tolerances for low-loss connections and splices.

Nonzero Dispersion Optical Fibers
For long-haul transmission over land and sea, OFS' line of Nonzero Dispersion Fiber (NZDF) Fibers offer optimum dispersion characteristics for the most cost-effective high-capacity, longest reach systems. These single-mode fibers are specifically designed to enable the lowest total systems cost for EDFA amplified networks in the Metro Express, regional, and long-haul markets. These ITU-T G.655 and G.656 compliant fibers can accommodate both today’s lower channel counts and tomorrow’s full band capabilities.

Ocean Fibers
OFS offers a full line of ocean fibers that meet the application requirements for submarine cable systems. Our fibers economically support today’s systems requirements, whether you are deploying a non-repeatered short-haul system or the longest transoceanic routes. As the technology leader in the development of new fibers that address today’s stringent requirements for high-speed (10-40 Gb/s) systems, OFS will work with your designers to support your latest undersea opportunity.
