OFS Fitel, LLC, a global manufacturer of fiber optics cable and apparatus, is seeking an Accounts Payable for its Cable Division located in Carrollton, Georgia, approximately 50 miles west of Atlanta.
Process and reconcile transactions for Accounts Payable and assist with other tasks as required for an efficient accounting department.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Checks and verifies cost accounting, account payable records, prepares invoices and vouchers, types, files, posts ledger and general journal entries, and/or balances accounts payable and accounts receivable records
Uses office automated systems to input data, generate reports, conduct specialized research projects and respond to inquiries. May reconcile difficult accounts. May maintain a complete and systematic set of transactions in a specific phase of accounting
Post vendor invoices into SAP accounts payables module
Review and reconcile vendor statements
Respond to calls/e-mails from vendors, purchasing, receiving, etc. on issues with PO’s or any other request
Reconcile consignment inventory liability and process payments
Process vendor credits
Resolve EDI blocked invoice issues
Reconcile month end GR/IR report for OCS, FS, PS, & OC businesses
Train to be backup for payment runs in absence of primary payment run employee
Backup to primary employee who performs cost roll ups for Cable, OCS, FS, OC businesses
Compile month end vendor payment reports by profit center
Update utility expense reports monthly
Run requested reports for Corporate Treasurer
Provide information for request from outside auditors and J-Sox auditor
Assist Financial Analysts with month end reporting journal entries, monthly inventory reconciliation, GL expense and cost analysis
Other special projects as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business (Required)
1 – 3 years previous experience in Accounting (preferred)
1 – 3 years in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
Strong computer Skills (Intermediate Level): MS Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Advanced level in Excel
Proficient (Intermediate Level) with the system (SAP)
Must be self- motivated and extremely detail oriented. Strong troubleshooting skills
Must have professional phone skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks
Superb math skills
Understanding of workflow associated with a sales order
Must be able to work independently as well as originate and develop ideas
Must be detailed oriented and willing to assume the responsibility of meeting OFS cash flow goals
Must be able to handle stressful work situations and work long hours as needed
Ability and desire to develop and grow into other positions within the accounting department
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
