Engineering Internship – Process Development – Avon, CT

We currently seek a college student enrolled in a technical course of study who is interested in a summer internship opportunity. Our Fiber and Cable Engineering department is looking for an Engineering Intern at our Specialty Photonics facility located in Avon, CT.

Job Summary

The selected candidate will work as a part of a development team of engineers on various process development projects for specialty optical fiber manufacturing, under the supervision of a Senior Engineer.  Duties include conducting experiments, data collection, data analysis, documenting results and report writing.  At the end of the internship, the candidate will prepare a presentation that summarizes the work they were involved in during the program.

Education Requirements

Candidate must be enrolled full-time in a college or university with a technical, manufacturing or quality-related course of study.  The ideal candidate will be in their junior or senior year of school.

Experience

This is an entry-level internship position.  Experience with mechanical systems and computer programing is preferred.
