We currently seek a Design Engineer to join our division located in Avon, CT, and help support our continued business growth.

The selected candidate would help design and develop new specialty optical fiber cable products.  Provide technical support to manufacturing, quality, sales/marketing, customers, and supply chain management.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and develop new specialty optical fiber cables as a lead engineer or as a project leader in various new product development projects
  • Provide design inputs and technical support for cable process development and improvement projects
  • Process Cable RFQs, Pink sheet, Gold sheet and other Engineering tasks
  • Provide support on various technical issues to Cable Production, Quality Control, Sales/Marketing, Test & Reliability Engineering, Supply Chain and customers
  • Perform other related duties as required by management

Key qualifications include:

  • Masters/Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science
  • 3-5 years of experience in optical fiber cable design and extrusion process
  • Knowledge of polymer materials’ properties and process
  • Knowledge of optical cable design, application, manufacturing and qualification testing
  • Strong competency in customer interaction
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication abilities
  • Project management experience
