Single Fiber Fixed V-Groove Clad Alignment Splicers

Save time and money with ease with single fiber fixed v-groove clad alignment splicers. By combining portability and ease of use in a ruggedized body we offer a powerful splicing performance with the durability needed for use in the field.

These splicers are designed is compact and low profile, its large battery capacity helps save on time by allowing 100 splicing and heating cycles in one charge. Offering consistent splicing and an ease of use you’d expect from OFS this product line is for use with all Metro, LAN, FTTX and ultra-bend insensitive fibers.

Ribbon Fusion Splicer

With a low profile and original rugged body, our series of Ribbon Fusion Splicersoffer rapid operation for FTTX, LAN, backbone or long-haul setups. The lightweight, durable metal body frame and rubber protection corners provide robust protection, enabling use in challenging locations without compromising splicer performance. These fusion splicers are water resistant to IPX2 and dust resistant to IP5X.

A large battery capacity makes it possible to perform up to 70 cycles of splicing and heating for some models with a single battery, and 160 cycles for the for other models with a dual battery configuration. These splicing machines also offer a splice-on connector (SOC) solution.

Single-Fiber Active Clad Alignment Splicers

Ease into splicing with our low-cost field splicing equipment. The Active V-Groove Technology used delivers low loss splices while helping to eliminate common Fixed V-groove splicing errors. A combination of speed, precision, durability and portability in one unit allows for an entirely new range of applications for active alignment splicing.

A canopy design with durable metal body frame and rubber protection corners provide robust guard. Equipped with a new alignment system that can save up to 20% on splicing time, and can also reduce protection sleeve shrink time by more than 30%. These splicers are water resistant to IPX2 and dust resistant to IP5X.

Advanced Factory Fusion Splicers

The FITEL family of Advanced Factory Fusion Splicers were designed specifically for the demanding production and research applications of the optical components industry. These innovative splicing machines are ideal for specialty and unusual fiber combinations. The very large diameter fiber splicing (up to 500 µm) compliments an optional LDF holder and LDF electrode.

Our three-phase wide area plasma technology enables splicing of large cladding fibers, as well as flame polishing and core diffusion capability. How To Use A FITEL Fusion Splicer


Time needed: 2 minutes.


  1. Install 

    Place the splice protection sleeve on one of the fibers

  2. Strip

    Remove the coating off of the fibers that will be spliced

  3. Clean

    Wipe the stripped fibers with fiber prep fluid

  4. Cleave

    Take both fibers and place them into the fusion splicer

  5. Press

    To initiate the splicing process use the start button 

  6. Initiate

    After splice is complete, open windshield to begin the tensile test

  7. Remove 

    Fibers from splicer and put splice protection sleeve over splice point and place in heat oven
