Join OFS at ISE EXPO Booth 421

ISE EXPO 2019 September 24 – 26 | Fort Worth Convention Center | Fort Worth, Texas

The OFS team is excited to head out to Fort Worth, Texas for the ISE Expo and talk fiber with other FTTx-focused professionals. As an exhibitor for ISE Expo, we will have a booth (421) set up for visitors to stop by, meet members of the team and see product demos. Our Technical Engineers will be there to answer all questions about OFS, fiber, and everything in between!

Meet Your New 200-Micron (µm), Gel-Free
Outside Plant Fiber Optic Cable

Fortex™ 2DT Loose Tube Cablemeet-the-new-fortex 2dt-cable

By incorporating 200-micron optical fiber, this cable literally doubles the fiber count in the cable buffer tubes, significantly increasing fiber density.
The reduced outer diameter of the Fortex 2DT Cable improves utilization of duct and subducts. In addition, cables with smaller outer diameters allow longer continuous cable reel lengths, which may result in fewer splices needed. Over long distances, the potential cost savings created by reduced splicing can be substantial.
The lighter weight of the Fortex 2DT Cable can also help to lower cable pulling tensions. This reduction can result in (1) increased cable pulling lengths; (2) lower installation costs by allowing longer distances between pulling handholes; and (3) faster installation speeds.
In the case of aerial deployments, a lighter weight cable can also decrease loads on poles. The Fortex 2DT Cable is an excellent choice for duct, lashed aerial and general outside plant (OSP) installations where a gel-free, loose tube cable that is smaller, lighter in weight and higher in fiber density is needed.

The FITEL® EZ-Terminator is your Superior Handheld Termination Tool

For All of Your FTTH Connector Installations

This industry-first tool is dedicated for SOC solutions and is a must have for any termination project. FITEL EZ-Terminator’s powerful motors and simple operation can guarantee high quality, repeatable results. The EZ-Terminator and SOC’s combine to provide optical loss performance and yield superior to mechanical connectors. It’s easy to see how this saves both time and money. With its large battery capacity, it can achieve 100 termination/heating cycles on a single charge giving you portability without sacrificing performance.

Density – The Challenges for Tomorrow’s Networks

September 26, 2019 9:15 AM – 10:15 AM

Join OFS Applications Engeneer, Mark Boxer, and learn about how the pace of change in the communications world continues to increase. Starting over 30 years ago, the first wave of fiber deployments built long-distance fiber networks across the country. Successive waves of fiber network extensions continue to bring fiber to homes, businesses, and 4G wireless sites. The next wave will continue the trend of merging wired and wireless networks together in preparation for 5G wireless and beyond, and will require fiber to be even more ubiquitous, potentially to small cell sites no more than a football field apart. In order to prepare for these networks, new fibers, cables, and components are being developed today to prepare for these networks. An overarching theme of these networks is they will require significant amounts of fiber in smaller spaces in order to deliver the massive amounts of bandwidth to power tomorrow’s networks. This presentation will survey today’s and tomorrow’s communications trends and translate these trends into real-world network solutions, highlighting new fiber-based tools that will ultimately be used to build these networks.
